7:30A.M. Registration. Nametags are available for pre-registered members. Walk-in registration begins. Mart opens for set up for table holders only.
8:00A.M. Mart. Opens for general entry. Mart will close at 11:45 A.M. for the 12:00 Noon Lunch.
8:30AM to 10:15 AM. Silent Auction. A fee of $3.00 per item, multiple items for one bid to count as one item.
9:00 AM. "The Influence of the Great London Exposition on the development of Precision Time Keeping." Jon Weber will provide an overview of the renowned watch and clock makers invited to this first international gathering of leaders and consumers from all of the areas where the industrial revolution were running at full speed. He will discuss how this gathering may have accelerated the development of precision watches. Jon (PhD – Physics) worked mostly in optical engineering for most of his career generating six patents. Jon has several articles published in the Bulletins and one in-press for "Chronometrophelia." His interests in horology are precision time keeping and its development, as well as repair and restoration of watches. Since 1972, Jon has been a NAWCC member.
10:30 AM. "Most Everything You Wanted to Know about Clocks and Watches." Several Chapter 8 council members will form a moderated panel to answer your horological questions. This workshop will be an open-forum session for questions and discussions with audience participation encouraged. Our newest council member, Jack Brady, will moderate the panel consisting of Chris Carey, Larry Chelmow, Wayne Paskerian, and Dave Deutermann. Since we also have case restoration skills (wood, brass, and gold leafing) within this knowledgeable and diverse panel, bring those questions too. Due to space limitations in this notice, the panels' biographies are not stated here, but will be verbally given at this workshop.

12:45 PM. "The Missing Harrison." Bob Frishman had in his shop last year, a unique and unusual English bracket clock signed, "John Harrison," on its silvered dial. This clock was last seen in 1940 when it was sold in New York City. With eminent horologist Will Andrewes, whose book on Harrison included the clock's grainy 1940 catalog photo, Bob authored a detailed article in Antiquarian Horology about this missing clock, and a related article in a future Bulletin issue. Bob Frishman is a Chapter 8 past-president and has made several presentations to our chapter. He has repaired, sold and studied antique timekeepers since 1980, and his business, Bell-Time Clocks, is based in Andover, Mass. His articles appear frequently in the Bulletin, and he lectures regularly on many aspects of horology. More about Bob is at www.bell-time.com.

Directions:
From the East or West: Mass Turnpike (I-90), take Exit 10, then stay to the right after exiting the toll plaza and to Southbridge St. (Route 12) going south. The Elks Club is about 0.6 mile on the right.
From the North: follow Route 290 to Exit 6, then to Route 20 West. Follow Route 20 to the 4th set of lights (Route 12 intersection). Turn right (north) on to Route 12. The Elk Club is about 0.3 mile on the left. Note: the exit for Route 20 West off of Route 290 is the very first exit after the Mass Turnpike. The exit comes up quickly, so be aware of this situation.
From the South: follow Route 395 (becomes Route 290 in Auburn) and take Exit 6 for Route 20 West. Proceed to the 4th set of lights (the junction of Routes 12 and 20) and turn right on to Route 12 North. The Elks Club is about 0.3 mile on the left.
