TAILGATE MART
(Indoor space in case of rain, shaded areas in case of high heat)
BARBEQUE PICNIC HOROLOGICAL DOOR PRIZES INFORMAL SHOW AND TELL
PLEASE NOTE - If you plan to sell, bring a plastic tarp, blanket, or table to display your items. If you are tailgate selling, park in front of the main building. In view of the larger expected attendance this year, the tailgate mart may overflow onto the adjacent gym hall parking lot. So, bring a sun umbrella if you have one and use plenty of sun-screen. For all others, definitely park in this large gym hall parking lot.
Because the barbeque is catered by the Academy, we are asking for a registration to be mailed in as we normally do for meetings. The registration ($20 each) cutoff date for the picnic is Friday, August 21, 2009. Registrations received after August 21 and walk-ins are $25.
Make check payable to “New England Chapter 8”

PLEASE RETURN, SO THAT THIS IS RECEIVED BY AUGUST 21st
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Once again we are looking forward to a wonderful summer picnic at Wilbraham & Monson Academy. This will be the second annual all New England Chapters picnic. Last year the Mart parking lot was full of sellers, and this year’s Mart promises to be equally well attended. Since there is no additional charge to sell at the Mart, it is a great time to sell unneeded clocks, parts, and other horological items.
There will be no formal presentations, but we will again have a show and tell session. This year the theme will be unusual and special railroad watches. If you have a railroad watch that fits this description, please bring it along and tell us something about it for a few minutes! A locked case, suitable for most pocket watches, cased watches as well as movements, will be provided for displaying your show and tell item.
The planned program is as follows:
9:00. Tailgate Mart (indoors in case of rain).
10:45. Show & Tell - unusual or special railroad watches. If you have such a piece, just bring it along for a short presentation. Make it informal, brief and fun.
11:45. Horological door prizes.
12:15. Barbeque Picnic Lunch.
After the picnic, clock tower tour. Jeff Wood will conduct tours for those interested. A sign-up sheet will be available at the check-in table. Wear rubber-soled shoes.
SILENT AUCTION: the silent auction will not be held for the picnic.
