Gerrit Nijssen was born and raised in Indonesia and completed his higher education in Holland. Over the years, he has written more than a half dozen articles for the NAWCC Bulletin and, in 1978, he published a book on F. A. Lange and Glasshutte. He joined the NAWCC in 1965, has been the Chair of the Research Committee since 1981, and has written extensively for the Bulletin. Snowden is a former President of the American Clock and Watch Museum and is now an honorary Director.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

It's hard to believe that it is already April, and that six years have passed since I last served as your president.

Your Chapter 8 Board hopes that we continue to provide interesting and worthwhile meetings for you.  About seven years ago, we did a survey to find out what the membership thought about our chapter meetings – we asked about the format and whether people felt they were getting value for their meeting expenses.  The response showed that most members liked the format and felt they were getting good value for their expenses.  We would like to do a similar survey to be sure that we are continuing to please the membership.  Please take a few minutes to respond to our 2 questions and return the survey in the enclosed envelope with your registration (if you can not attend the meeting, please do try to send back the survey).

I’m looking forward to serving as your president for the next two years.  I hope to see all of you at the meeting.

-- Larry Chelmow
