From Massachusetts, take the Mass Pike (1-90) west to exit 9 to Rte 20 west through the lights to the Host Hotel on the right.
From Connecticut and New York, take 1-84 east to Rte 20 west in Sturbridge, through the lights to the Host Hotel on the right.
From Rhode Island, take Rte 146 north to Rte 20 west in Sturbridge, through the lights to the Host Hotel on the right.

Registrations by September 26, 2005 are $19.
Registrations received after September 26, 2005 and "walk-ins" will be $25.
As always, registration includes your luncheon and is required for participation in any of the meeting activities.

Building an 8-Day Weight Driven Pendulum Clock - Mike Yawitch practiced as a Consulting Civil Engineer in South Africa for over 40 Years. He retired in late 1999 to join his family in the
USA
. He took up Home Shop Machining as a hobby in the early 1980's and gravitated to clock making by 1990. To date Mike has made two skeleton clocks to the design of W.R. Smith of
Tennessee
. He is currently making a traditional weight driven pendulum clock, which he intends following with a skeleton clock of his own design. |

The Watch and Clock Fusee Mechanism - Martin Cohen, participating director of Chapter 8, will make this presentation. He has been an amateur horologist for many years. While not a collector, Marty’s main interests are the history of technology, tools and means and mechanisms for telling time. The lecture and demonstration will include all you ever wanted to know about the fusee but were afraid to ask.

Don Mueller, Director of the American Clock and
Watch
Museum

. His program will include a slide presentation of some of the outstanding watches and clocks in the Museum collection. He will also discuss current and future special exhibits, activities and services available to the horological community. This museum, if you have not been there, is a jewel and is well worth your time to visit it. Many Chapter 8 members also are members of the museum and support it. |
The Silent Auction table (8: 30 to 10:15) - enables you to sell a few items without the need for a table:
Fill out a slip at the table with your minimum price you will accept for the item. Members can then write in their bids during the course of the auction.
The cost to you as a seller is only $3.00 PER ITEM. The charge is payable in advance and applies whether item sells or not.
AND
At the same table or at the registration table in the hall you can buy a ticket for the 50-50 raffle. YOU get 50% of the total pot and Chapter 8 benefits from the other half. $1.00 per ticket or three for $2.00.
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Since this is the last meeting of 2005, I wish to extend my best wishes for the oncoming Thanksgiving Holiday and Seasons Greetings for the Year End Holidays. I hope that this year's Chapter Events have brought you some pleasure and enlightenment in the world of horology. I know that next year, we will strive to do better.
