Fellow GBWCC members:
We will start this spring with a Sunday morning meeting at the home-based shop of Bell Time Clocks in Andover to be hosted by Bob Frishman on Sunday 15 April 2012.
Bob will give a tour of his collection and workshop, and then be discussing and projecting photos of his experience with a long lost John Harrison Clock that showed up for repair. He wrote about it in a recent issue of Antiquarian Horology with Will Andrewes, so not much suspense is lost by revealing that the clock is a forgery, which had been suspected for a long time.
I am sure most of you know Bob but for those who do not you can check his web site
www.bell-time.com
which also has a link for directions at the top of the home page.
NOTE you can park right on the street in front of his house, but not in the adjacent parking lot.
We would like to start at 10 in the morning, so, please plan on arriving by that time. It will be a brunch meeting with the club providing light breakfast, bagels and spreads and coffee. If any are still hungry we can place an order at the nearby Panera Breads but this is not now part of the meeting plan.
Meal should cost about $5 and we would like to collect $20 in dues.
Space is limited at Bob's Shop so we do need an RSVP. We would like it by 31 March but please, please by 12 April.
If you want to make a longer day of it in Andover, nearby is the Addison Gallery of American Art,
www.andover.edu/museums/addison,
on the campus of Phillips Andover Academy, which you could visit after the meeting.
